    I’ve had a couple of ShotScope watches (V3, X5).
Overall I’m very happy with them, with only 1 minor gripe – they always use non standard charging cables, and they always seem to play up. For example my X5 will sometimes refuse to recognise it’s plugged in, then I’ll move it a fraction, or restart it, then it’s fine.
But the positives massively outweigh the negatives
    – easy to use, no fiddling about when you’re playing, a couple of different options to suit how you want it to behave.
    – tracks shots as well as anything else does (nothings perfect, but it doesn’t miss much)
    – the customer support is insanely good. I once emailed them about an issue with my old golf club yardages, they updated their maps and got back to me in a few days. Another time I emailed them on a Saturday evening because they didn’t have my particular make and model of putter in their database. They added it and emailed me back by Sunday lunchtime.
    – No subscription costs. This is a big one – buy the watch and that’s it, nothing more to pay, for however long you use it.

Apart from the political issues (which we’ll steer clear of and keep it to golf), the biggest issue for me is the presentation.
It’s still very poor compared to watching traditional golf – not always easy to see the relative positions, teams, etc.
…and the shotgun format doesn’t help make a good viewing spectacle – nobody’s ever going to remember that stroll up the 5th hole to take the title …which might not be the title of someone in 14 chips in.
I’ve tried a few times, ultimately get turned off, but I’ll keep checking back in and trying again, because the potential is there.

Personally I just wish they’d all sort things out – feels like a missed opportunity (with a lot of egos involved) – I mean there’s so many formats available, and not that much golf coverage – wish LIV had been setup to complement what’s already there rather than compete with it. Seeing the best in the world playing Stableford (not that horrific US version), Pairs 4BB, Greensomes, Skins, etc.

    Age: 54
    From: Caerphilly, Wales
Started Golf: Played loads in my younger years, foolishly stopped, started again about 6 years ago
Current Handicap: 28 (not logged many rounds in recent years, so it’s bouncing between 20 and 30)
Best Course Played: I have a soft spot for Monte Rei, Portugal
(Reasonable) Bucket List Course (UK): For weird personal reasons, I want to finally play West Cornwall. My mother was born right next to it (Lelant), and I’ve spent my entire life passing it a few times a year, but never with golf gear or spare time
(Reasonable) Bucket List Course (World): Bethpage Black, for sh#ts & giggles
Best Score to Par on 18 holes: 84 (+13)
    Holes in one: Still waiting
Favourite Golf Mate: That’s like asking who your favourite child is, but Liam’s the OG
    Favourite Sports Team: Nottingham Forest
Stroke Play or Match Play: Don’t mind but 4BB is probably my favourite
Flag In or Flag Out: Out
    Favourite Men’s Major: Masters
