I took up golf two years ago after deciding I wanted a new sport to play as Im now over 50
I joined a club 15 months ago and finally got a handicap, but it was 43.
I wasn’t happy and really struggled with the game and felt I was the worse player in the club and I got a lot of ribbing for it and I was thinking of knocking it on the head.
I was encouraged by some players at the club all saying I was a much better player than my Handicap.
Been working hard on my short game and playing within my ability and Today I finally dropped my handicap below 30.
Playing with other and people of a much higher standard has improved my game so much
My next aim is 20…
Well done Nicolas, that’s great progress in 15 months. It’s good to have a handicap target but be careful not to let it affect your morale/enjoyment of the game. If you approach each round with the mindset of: I’m here to have fun, celebrate the good shots and learn from the bad ones, you’ll find you gradually improve in each area and find your level, whatever that might be.
