It all depends what you’re looking for I guess.
I started playing last year and got a set of Cobra Fly XL2 irons. They’re pretty forgiving, game improvement irons. Decent quality and won’t break the bank. They’ve done a decent job for me so far.
I think places like Clubhouse and Affordable golf do a 5-SW set for about £300ish.I also got a Cobra Air X hybrid for longer shots, which I get on really well with.

I have a set of Wilson, fitted for me at american golf. I’m 6 feet 3 and standard clubs are too short. I just fancied a change.

I would just go to a place where you can hit a few different clubs outside.
Hitting into a screen is sucks.
Ive had many a club fitting hitting into a screen then found the ball flight on course to be abit off.
A good coach would be where I would spend that money.
Unless your just after something nice and shiny for that feel good factor. -

I’m a similar height and lie angle will be important (along with length) for you, so hopefully the fitting at American Golf gave you the right specs for your build and swing speed (flex).

After that it comes down to budget and whether you like the look of the club behind the ball.
For what it’s worth, I play game improvement irons (8 index), so I don’t think it’s a simple case of your current handicap limiting what clubs you can consider, your age, strength and potential come into it.
Some people need distance, others need help getting height, everyone can benefit from forgiveness, -

If you just fancy a change and the fact you have already been fitted and know your custom spec I would visit golf clubs for cash, golf bidder or companies like that who will have an extensive range of second hand clubs and probably take your clubs as part of a deal. If you really want to disappear down a rabbit hole speak to eBay Pete! 😉 Happy hunting

For irons I would recommend the Ping G440’s. Very forgiving game improvement irons subject to budget. For fairway woods, although they aren’t new, you can’t go wrong with Taylormade Qi10 – in fact I would go as far as to say that if you arent playing with a QI10 f/wood, something is wrong. The face is probably the biggest on the market, so if you struggle with hitting the sweet spot and finding the middle, this really helps – imo
