    Hi Golf Mates,

I am at Manchester Airport about to fly back to Oz. I want to thank the last hidden Gems of Scotland for inspiring me to do my own tour. I started at Carus Green for a couple of recovery days and a round. Then it was on to Stirling and Stonehaven to relax and watch the Scotish open. Relaxed, I played five rounds in 6 days at the Royal Deeside Golf week. Met a few GMs up there. If you don’t know about it, I highly recommend you look it up and try to get it on the agenda for a golfing holiday in Scotland. Managed to pick up a win in my Division at Braemar GC, winning a bottle of Royal Lachnagar and a 60 pound voucher.
Then the cherry on the cake. Had a two day break in Carnoustie before playing all three courses there. What an experience. Had amazing weather, so Carnoustie did not bare it’s teeth thankfully. A quick dash back to Kendal and Carus for a round and lesson with Simon. That was also a great experience. The lesson, not the round. River Kent claimed 4 balls. Also met Graham and Stu and loved the chat we had.
To finish the trip, a couple of days in Manchester with some friends and a round at Ashton under Lyne.

    Farewell all,

It’s been an adventure and the hospitality stunning.

    Hi Liam,
Yes it was. Have just walked into my place in Melbourne at 730 AM Wednesday after leaving Manchester at 915 PM Monday. I am very seriously considering returning for next year’s Deeside Golf week and then planning out some other courses in Scotland. Spey Valley was highly recommended, for the course and the drive between there and Royal Deeside. After that more links then home via the east coast and Carus green again. Three or four months to plan that one out and get it pretty right.

Any recommendations from yourself and the mates welcome.

    Ian Mc.
