I’ve got a Garmin S70 combined with the sensors. I really like it. Not the cheapest (I had received a wee bonus from work) but is pretty decent. Automatically registers shots, etc. Started using it at the start of last season and I’ve no complaints. I’ve recently added the Garmin Z30 laser that works in conjunction with the watch. Zap the flag from the tee box on a par 4 and it gives you flag distance for the rest of the hole.

I’ve no personal experience with any others.

I’ve got the X5 and Love it. Just don’t always remember to do my putts with it. Easy to use and the app is brilliant.

    I’ve had a couple of ShotScope watches (V3, X5).
Overall I’m very happy with them, with only 1 minor gripe – they always use non standard charging cables, and they always seem to play up. For example my X5 will sometimes refuse to recognise it’s plugged in, then I’ll move it a fraction, or restart it, then it’s fine.
But the positives massively outweigh the negatives
    – easy to use, no fiddling about when you’re playing, a couple of different options to suit how you want it to behave.
    – tracks shots as well as anything else does (nothings perfect, but it doesn’t miss much)
    – the customer support is insanely good. I once emailed them about an issue with my old golf club yardages, they updated their maps and got back to me in a few days. Another time I emailed them on a Saturday evening because they didn’t have my particular make and model of putter in their database. They added it and emailed me back by Sunday lunchtime.
    – No subscription costs. This is a big one – buy the watch and that’s it, nothing more to pay, for however long you use it.
