ParticipantAre you in or out on it?
Personally, I’m a big fan – and intrigued to see how it helps shape the pro game going forwards.
Find it much easier to consume that the traditional 4 day tour events, I like the team aspect – keeps all the players engaged in the competition right through the tournament, and having been to a couple of events, I like the atmosphere as well as the music.Appreciate its not for everybody, be interested to hear other peoples points of view – and please, let’s keep it civil cos this is one topic that often causes some friction.

ParticipantI’m out – no offence. 🙂
I can understand why the players have done it. Eye watering sums of money involved, especially for the likes of Poulter and Westwood. I think that it is an example of a more general greed that is prevalent today – not just in golf. When is enough actually enough? If you gave anybody on this forum 10 million from the lottery they would be set-up for life and their family would be set-up for generations. They wouldn’t be going “I need to the win the lottery again”.I don’t think there are many players that are missed massively except Rahm. I cannot, however, comment on the quality of the golf or the format as I don’t watch based on my principle above. It could also be that I’m quite traditional in my golf thinking – the Masters is amazing because there are no phones on the course, the Open should be a different test for the players (links + wind is always fun).
If somebody, such as yourself, likes it then that’s good too. I like watching the ladies tours which some guys I know don’t like. It’s about freedom to choose.
Keep enjoying LIV. 🙂

ParticipantApart from the political issues (which we’ll steer clear of and keep it to golf), the biggest issue for me is the presentation.
It’s still very poor compared to watching traditional golf – not always easy to see the relative positions, teams, etc.
…and the shotgun format doesn’t help make a good viewing spectacle – nobody’s ever going to remember that stroll up the 5th hole to take the title …which might not be the title of someone in 14 chips in.
I’ve tried a few times, ultimately get turned off, but I’ll keep checking back in and trying again, because the potential is there.Personally I just wish they’d all sort things out – feels like a missed opportunity (with a lot of egos involved) – I mean there’s so many formats available, and not that much golf coverage – wish LIV had been setup to complement what’s already there rather than compete with it. Seeing the best in the world playing Stableford (not that horrific US version), Pairs 4BB, Greensomes, Skins, etc.
