Here are just a few examples of how we were all scammed:
What happened the membership cards that we were all getting according to Liam im the intro? Were they part of your scam?
What happened the mystery tours you promised in your intro? Another part of your scam too?
Also, what happened your clubhouse chats and banter, the ones you never replied to? Another part of your scam?
Do any other golf mates feel they have been misled and let down? Before anyone says it, I couldn’t care less about the money it’s only £70 but on principle I don’t like to be scammed by brass necked liars.
Hi Félim, I don’t feel let down, but then I just see the club as a way of supporting the channel, I don’t expect much extra from it.
I think Liam is doing his best to grow a business and is probably getting pulled in different directions. By sharing his plans on the office videos, he might be creating a rod for his own back but I think it’s all genuine good intentions, he might not just have the bandwidth or organisational skills to deliver as quickly as he’d like.
As an aside, if it’s to be a proper club, I think members could have more conversations between themselves on the forum (or with other characters like Simon), it doesn’t have to be like YouTube where everything is directed at Liam, as I don’t think communication is his strong suit.
Hi felim, I feel the same as Cathal it’s just another way of supporting the golfmates channel. Don’t forget he has to pay for all his staff, all the trips and much more. YouTube alone as changed and the money has dropped so much now it’s made it difficult to do the things mentioned above.
I’ve also noticed that the quality of the videos as improved massively so the tells me new cameras. Last but not least the minimum wage is killing a lot of business so imagined how that affects Liam. I don’t feel scammed one bit I get access to extra videos, access to chat like this and first dibs at the trips. Quick question for you have you been on the golfmates trips or golf days? If not honestly try them I’ve made friends for life. That the main reason I don’t mind £70 a year.Firstly, thanks to both of you for responding and let me be clear that I was more than happy to support the channel and Liam but what grinds my gears mostly is the complete lack of interaction from the golf mates team. We were all hoping for a nice club atmosphere where, as Geoffrey said, we could make friends for life from all with similar interests and this should absolutely have been encouraged and promoted by Liam and the team, he/they have failed completely in this regard (you’ll notice he hasn’t said boo on this thread or any other thread for that matter).
It’s clear to me that Liam’s main income comes from YouTube and the majority of his time and attention goes on that- I did a quick count on the first Golf Mates video that popped up on YouTube for me, there were 142 comments of which Liam responded with a like to 46 and he made a written reply to 26 of them which tells its own story.
I’m probably persona non grata now in Liam’s eyes so it’s unlikely I’ll continue my membership for another year or attend any of the golf events (which was my main reason for joining up as I am recently returned to Europe having been living in Central America).
Anyway, best of luck to all the golf mates and I hope that Liam reads this and takes some of it on board. It would appear that communication isn’t his strong point unless he’s asking for something.
